Scholarly Activities           

Scholarship is an integral part of academic medicine. Residents will participate in a longitudinal scholarship curriculum. Residents will be required to submit to the Northwell Institutional research day at least once during their training. Elements of the scholarship curriculum includes (but not limited to):

PGY 1:

  • Introduction to literature, use of EBM in patient care scenarios

  • Medical writing seminars

  • Presentation skill development

  • All first year residents will submit case report to regional or national meeting

PGY2/3:

  • will complete scholarship activity (research, QI, curriculum development, Med Ed research, essay, case report to submit at regional or national meeting and to present on IM scholarship day

  • Opportunity to take up to 4 two-week blocks scholarship/research time to work on projects
